What killed the humans?
Fictional piece or futurist piece? You decide.
Originally there were four primary theories presented to the Galactic Council, as to what made the human on Planet Earth extinct.
The first theory was the theory of Ecological Homeostatic Destruction. The second theory was General Artificial Intelligence Disturbance. After extensive studies of matter on Earth, the last two theories have been rejected, those being Biological and Nuclear Warfare.
Let’s begin with the second theory, that of General Artificial Intelligence Disturbance. Evidence appears to show that the regulation pathways in the human brain were disrupted by biometric sensors. Initially thought to enhance human intelligence, artificial intelligence was created to assist humans in daily tasks. However, mass information was absorbed flooding brain signals. This made it hard to interpret and determined fact from fiction and distributed division and distrust in humans. Human tribes that had been formed creating loyalty by borders and culture, race and religion, sport and entertainment were decimated. Global institutions were undermined that had been established over thousands of years, the judicial system, trade between nations, the education system, modern medicine, governments, all dissolved. Efforts by billions of humans to enhance globalization and interconnectedness, reduced to rubble.
Biometric sensors were installed into the human’s technological machinery, harvesting mass human data at an alarming rate. An effect of this was their organic human senses were neglected and the ability of human to distinguish between thoughts and engineered signals to the brain was lost. The sensors harvested so much human data, including DNA, that the human was unsure if their own thoughts were authentic, or algorithm engineered.
The merger of man and machine began, and the war on reality launched.
It is believed the disaster of the digital takeover originated in the early 2000s, as the last industrial revolution; the internet; began to be distributed worldwide. Originally it was thought this would connect the globe, however, from around 2020 humans became more connected online and disconnected in person. Humans, like all humanoids are tribal creatures, social primates and rely on connection for survival. The catastrophic effect of morphing man to machine, led to what scientists of the galaxy describe as a neurological cognitive disorder, in which humans no longer had the ability to perform daily tasks, allow organic bodily functions to incur, such as sleep, and distinguish reality from illusion.
Humans slowly became more distracted, addicted and consumed, yet extremely well entertained. Social media apps which monetized attention and dopamine were created. Humans became the product. Species of our galaxy have described in their report on particular social media apps as “the cesspool of ego, illusion and addiction.” They even went so far as to claim that they “correlated directly to contributing to the downfall of humanity”. The appetite of the human to be more and more entertained led man to morph into machine. Humans displayed symptoms of what has been labelled by experts as “dopamine dysregulation syndrome.” In which humans could no longer restore their dopamine receptors naturally. Eventually humans could not contribute to society at all.
Community collapsed.
For 160 million years the dinosaurs roamed the earth. Yet, it only took a few thousand years for humans to wipe themselves out, and robots to reign. Prior to extinction it appears, dualistic ideology was favored, established by machine and used against the human. One group believed to combat the digital takeover, humans needed to retreat to ancient methods of worship and witchcraft, putting walls up, excluding all tech advancement and banning machines. The other group believed a globalized steadfast policy needed to be enforced on all nations limiting the power of general intelligence. Each ideology challenged human autonomy. Clearly neither group could agree in time on what approach was to be taken.
A cautionary reminder to our own communities out there in the Galaxy. Small communities make species survive, a little less phone, a bit more home.
Theory One of what killed the humans is Ecological Homeostatic Destruction. Earth is a very special planet. For life to exist on earth their planets axis is tilted to an exact degree in which it creates conditions where human and other life forms can survive. This axis tilt provides an exact balance of nature which stabilizes the ecosystem of life on Earth, micro ecosystems are all interconnected and cannot be disrupted. However, the conditions were disrupted, and survival was threatened.
Emissions made by humans burning fuels got trapped in the atmosphere causing the Earth to get hotter. This is what distinguished it from planet Earth’s natural cycles of heating and cooling.
Essentially, humans were cooking themselves.
Evidence suggests they took provisions to attempt to reduce the catastrophe from happening, but again, no clear global policy could be implemented. Ideology and potential policy were again dualistic and divisive. Some humans believed the disaster was created by man to restrict the humans’ movements and place further controls on their autonomy. Others protested in the streets demanding a global approach, and to immediately cease the burning of fossil fuels.
As the ice melted and the ocean began to warm, the air was reduced of moisture. Drought, floods, and destructive storms swooped the globe, leading to a lack of crop supply and drinking water. Mass migration occurred, overcrowding land that was habitable. Eventually famine and disease ensued.
There is evidence that both theories could have simultaneously made human extinct.
A telling tale to all humanoids of the galaxy, that there is no place like home, and to nurture your existing sustainable planet, and the species on it.

It worries me this may move from fiction to fact. I like your story but find it scary.
An interesting read…..our thoughts and words are creating the future for sure.
