40 things I learnt at 40.

  1. Everything we fear we will have to face.
  2. Everything we judge we will have to endure.
  3. Surrender control to really live.
  4. Create more than consume.
  5. Seek small pockets of adventure, connection, joy and laughter in a system designed to depress and enslave us in mundane routine and under rule.
  6. People will let us down, give them grace. We are all just trying to survive our own journey, story, trauma and demons.
  7. Our own intuition is the most powerful tool we have.
  8. We cannot become dogmatic as the years harden us. Attachments with ideology will ruin genuine attachments later in life.
  9. The more we abuse our mind, the more our body will suffer in pain.
  10. The mundane will put the chaos of life back to order. If overwhelmed, stressed, living through trauma, light work with our hands helps. Some routine, healthy food, sunshine, the ocean, hot and cold comforts like hot baths or cold showers. If we cannot find any comfort in our mind, if it feels like it is betraying us, let nature take over and cure.
  11. Social media, while sometimes hilariously entertaining, and helpful in shared awareness (especially about mental illness) is basically a cesspool of narcissistic egos or bot farms creating an image that doesn’t exist. Deep within the slop that we scroll is smoke and mirrors layered with demonic messaging encouraging people to strengthen their search for toxic individualism and self-serving structures; deterring us from what we actually need, community and genuine connection.
  12. Helping others is core to what it means to be human. Trauma can make us hate ourselves or others. Abandoning ourselves or someone we believe is “toxic” or another buzz word the internet offers is not always the best way forward. We can all have toxic traits. Love people for all their flaws. Today’s society is trying to promote disconnection and divide.
  13. The fakest people are often the most adored, “followed” or liked. Influencing is fake and “following” them is kind of pathetic…
  14. Our lessons will be given to us in the most brutal of ways. It’s how we learn from them that bares our soul.
  15. Life is about love and loss. That’s it. If you have seen death, you will know that nothing really matters between these two lessons.
  16. This is not the only realm and what we do here will undoubtedly affect the next dimension.
  17. The most miraculous miracle is nature. Tune into the fascination of it. Gods’ miracle. If you don’t believe in God, at least worship mother nature. She is holy and powerful. The womb, the cycle of the moon and the creation of life are aligned. That is holy.
  18. People are multi-dimensional. Dualism can cause division between humans. Basically, things aren’t black and white, and your perception of things is only a snapshot.
  19. Speak and think what you want into reality.
  20. There is always hope.
  21. Suffering will end.
  22. Things aren’t always as they seem. Pathos cloud perception and make emotions feel like truth.
  23. Everyone is worthy of love.
  24. Dedicate your life to love.
  25. Give more than you take.
  26. Learn to let go.
  27. Forgive, forgive and forgive again.
  28. Forgive yourself.
  29. Your beliefs about your identity will either put limits on your life or set you free.
  30. Keep laughing, no matter what.
  31. Guilt won’t help.
  32. Everything washes up in the end. Even us. Be generous.
  33. Don’t have any opinion that’s too hardcore. Getting attached to opinions starts war. (haha I had to…)
  34. Becoming addicted to anything is unhealthy. Being addicted to being healthy will certainly make you unhealthy.
  35. Your body wants to heal, give it the space to. But being addicted to healing will prevent you from living.
  36. Let go of control, you aren’t in control anyway.
  37. Give especially to the vulnerable; animals and children, and your life will be enriched by their magic.
  38. Look for signs in nature. We are being guided.
  39. We are all just looking for a home, but..
  40. The home is eternal.

Disclaimer: These are my personal thoughts and lessons jumbled from my brain into a list. Not gospel. Not instructions, not researched nor evidence-based advice, but most probably biased nonscience from my inner ego, because as we all know most people are full of it.
