10 things you cannot forget on your next trip!

So, you have not been overseas since 2019, have forgotten how to travel, how to pack, what you need, and how to have fun? All of the above. Here are my top 10 things you need right now for a super stylish, long-awaited 2022 Islands or EU Trip.

A woven basket bag. This is your absolute must-have item for a summer abroad. Ultra practical, you can wear it to the beach or cafe. A geometric frame pair of sunglasses. This is an absolute style must-have, and you cannot leave the country without a pair. Prada $474, Le specs $79, Glassons $29.99.
Sandals, you need a gorgeous pair of sandals, not jandals; no jandals simply will not do. They must be sandals! That you can wear day or night, casual or dressy. From the Iconic Dazie Jerri Sandals, $79.99, Alias Mae $254.29 or the new Prada foam Rubber Sandals $1,330.00. Pro tip! Wearing socks with sandals is not just okay, but actually very comfortable and on-trend… So go ahead, get comfortable!
A bumbag or backpack. The fanny-pack is the ultimate street style trend and is not going anywhere anytime soon! This is the most practical and ultimate cool (for someone who..may have..been born in the 80s) way to store your valuables on a trip. The Isabel Marant Skano Belt Bag can be yours for around $855, or my personal favourite is the Aje Logotype. Bumbag 904 NZD $110. In terms of backpacks, you cannot go past ‘the backpack’ by Marc Jacobs at $554.06 for the designer or for everyday ‘the everyday backpack by Lululemon at $125.
Slip, Slop, Slap, let’s find the best hats! The bigger, the better with hats. More hat, more glamour, more sun protection. For those label lovers, we have spotted the Valentino Garavani Vlogo Leather-trimmed straw hat at $1,002.16 or for similar without the price tag, The Nikki Beach Tulum hat in neutral from Revolve at $153.90. My favourite is the Jaquemus Le bob Artichaut bucket hat in Turquoise, which retails for a couple of hundred, but I have a few available for hire! Sneakers. You may not think you will be exercising on holiday, but you may have forgotten that we need sneakers in the airport, on planes and while walking the streets. If you are lucky enough to get your hands on a pair of New Balance 550s, then you’ve got the look! But any neutral pair of sneakers will do. New Balance 550s with white and green are the hottest shoe right now, but because they are unisex, they are super hard to get in the smaller sizes, so look out for the 2002 sneakers in bone. These will set you back a couple of hundred but paired with a slouch sock , epic pair of denim shorts, crop and over sized blazer, you will definitely look the Europe summer hot girl part!
Handbag. Of course one handbag is never enough. So the woven bag and the belt bag are separate to our cocktail hour bag. Duh! The bag to be spotted on the arm at the moment is the gorgeous Bottega Veneta Jodie Mini, but she will set you back close to four big ones, so for a cheaper alternative, we have found the equally aesthetic Clery woven leather bag on Iconic for around $400 or the Aere woven leather tote at $229.33.
Sunscreen. Naked Sundays is my pick, at around $37, spf 50, plus collagen glow- from Mecca, AND DO NOT FORGET YOUR LIPS!
Lip balm. For when you forget to sunscreen your lips. For extra hydration my favorite lip-balm is the Salt by Hendrix Lip butter, made from plant based ingredients, it is very moisturizing and sits at $25.
